Book Description:
We Be Big is not only the story of how Rick Burgess and Bill "Bubba" Bussey got started in the radio buissness but about their lives. If you think that autobiographies are boring, you will be very surprised with this book! I can promise you that!

Age recommended: 13+

Positive Content:
Rick becomes a christian, thousonds are saved by the tragic loss of the Burgess' youngest child.

Spiritual Content:
Rick and Bubba frequently speak about their faith.

Romance/Sexual Content:
Rick publicly tries to begin a relationship with Sherri (over the air), they eventually marry. There is a very small sentence about Betty mopping naked, and, Rick and Sherri having marrige relations on a cruise ship unaware that the blinds were left open.

Violence:
None.

Language:
None.


Acoholic/Drug Content:
Rick is involved in alchol in his early years.

Negative Content:
Rick and Sherrie's child, Bronner Burgess, dies in a swimming pool.

Conclusion:
We Be Big was the best autobiography I have ever read. It was filled with their confession of faith and they constantly pointed to Christ as the one that brought them to where they are now. I definitely recommend this book.

The Mouse That Roared: Review

The Mouse That Roared, based in the settings of the 1950's, was written by Leonard Wibberley, .

Age recommended: 11+

Positive Content:
The Count of Mountjoy wants to be honest and detests the suggestion to water down the country's famous wine.

Spiritual Content:
None

Romance/Sexual Content:
Tully and Gloriana have *feelings* for eachother, a deck hand tells Tully he and the guys want to go see some American women, a policeman makes a sexual comment about Gloriana, Gloriana and Tully eventually get married.

Violence:
The book revolves around a war, Tully and his men shoot their longbows at General Snippet and the police officers, a policeman kills one of Tully's men.

Language:
H-ll is used two or three times.


Acoholic/Drug Content:
General Snippet's chief believes Snippet has been drinking when he reports that Men from Mars have landed in  New York. A comment is made about the subway stations selling out on their ciggarettes during an air raid practice alert.

Negative Content:
Many times throughout the book there are references to evolution.

Conclusion:
Even though there was some questionable content, I really enjoyed the book. When I first started reading it I thought I was going to have to make myself get through it, but by chapter two I was addicted! :)
Plus the book had large margins! The font was a little small but not too bad...
And if your know my preference for books you'll understand why I said that!
